For sale is our 1979 Buick Electra. It is a one family car; it belonged to my wife's grandparents. It was purchased in Oak Park, IL and driven to the Palm springs California area where it lived until 4 years ago. After my wives Grandparents passed, the car was driven by my wife's father for a few years. The driving was minimal and around town. 4 years ago I bought the car from my father in law, and brought it back to Indiana from California, where it has been Garage kept/stored in the winter months. The car is driven by me only, from April through October. The car has 83,077 miles on it and rides like a dream. The body of the car is almost mint and turns heads wherever we go. I have taken the utmost care of the car as I intended to keep it and pass it on to my sons. That plan has changed and so here I am. The Hot California sun had done some damage to the vinyl on some of the doors, damage to the back top seat which is why you see the light blue fabric covering the top of the seat. Drivers side door and trunk need new weather stripping. The drivers seat is electric, but hasn't worked for years, it does click when you engage the controls (every once in a while i check to see if it will work). The Air Conditioner works, but if it had a new condenser, it would work great..one of my kids attempted to plug their phone into the cigarette lighter in the passengers back door, and pushed it too far and now lays at the bottom of the cavity, but the lighter still works. The car has oil leaks; my guy said the some of gaskets are old and need replaced, he quoted me $500-$600. One of the pictures of the roof, you will see the soft top has come apart from the part of car that runs down between the windshield and the drivers door; that is a new issue, like 2 days ago new. The car looks great, not for its age, it just looks great. In the four years I have owned this car I have had the water and fuel pump replaced, put in a new starter (last week), new windshield wiper reserve, new battery, and had the air-conditioning upgraded. I bought he car when it had 70,000 miles on it, I have put 13,000 miles on it in 4 years. Restoring old cars is a game for the well to do or people that can do it themselves, I am neither. If I had the money to put into this to keep the car at excellent condition it would already be done, seeing I don't, Im putting it up for sale for someone who could.
